1. Speak with your GP or medical specialist
Your doctor or specialist will assess your eligibility and provide the medical certificate required for your claim.
2. Book a private consultation
Meet with our experienced team online or at our Hamilton studio. We will discuss your hair loss, preferred style, comfort requirements, budget and available subsidy.
3. Choose your wig or hairpiece
We will help you compare suitable wigs, toppers, hairpieces or hair systems and find an option that feels comfortable and natural.
4. Submit your subsidy claim
Once you have selected your solution, we can help submit the claim on your behalf. You may also choose to lodge the claim yourself.
5. Pay any remaining balance
Where the cost is higher than your available entitlement, you will only need to pay the remaining balance.
The Health New Zealand wig and hairpiece subsidy helps eligible New Zealanders cover some or all of the cost of a wig, hairpiece or related headwear.
The subsidy may be available when hair loss is caused by a medical condition or treatment, including chemotherapy, alopecia and certain scalp conditions.
